Pie Fundraiser Information
Pie at the Art Fair in July!
Picture July in southern Wisconsin.
Imagine spending time baking in a hot kitchen during this typically warm time of year.
Sound crazy? It may, but commitment and dedication is what it is really about. Many Mount Horeb Public Library supporters spend hours baking pies in their kitchens in support of the annual Friends of the Library Homemade Pie Sale.
The pie sale is held in the food court during the Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Mount Horeb Art Fair. Volunteers sign up to bake pies and staff the event. Sign up sheets are in the library near the Check-Out Desk. Committee members do the orchestrating, and, along with the volunteers, staff the sale. The bakers deliver the pies on Friday, the booth is set up on Saturday morning and within several hours time, the pies are gone, sold to eager art fair attendees.
The pie sale has become an art fair fixture.
The pies are usually gone by the end of the day on Saturday. However,
the art fair is two days long…
