Terrific Toffee

Line a 9x13” pan with foil. Combine chips and put half (about 1 ½ cups) in the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle the malted milk powder over chips. Next combine butter, sugar, and water in heavy pan and cook over medium heat to boiling. Stir constantly. Use a candy thermometer and stirring frequently, heat to 290 (soft crack stage), about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and immediately pour over chips in pan. Spread evenly then top with remaining 1-1/2 cups chips. Cool for at least an hour. Break into pieces. If necessary, chill 10 minutes to set chocolate. Makes about 2 pounds.
