The History of American Education with Kyle Steele

School photoAmericans spend billions and billions of dollars annually on tax-supported, public education. Why? What are the true purposes of public education? Historian of education and assistant professor Kyle Steele (UW Oshkosh) will lead a discussion, ranging from the Founding Fathers to the near-present, that will use our past to contextualize--and perhaps even answer--these questions.

This program is part of our Big Read series. All are welcome to attend, even if you are not participating in the community read.
