Henry's 1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Congratulations to Henry Healy who has the honor of becoming the first participant to finish the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program at Mount Horeb Public Library. Henry started the journey on March 3, 2014 and finished on March 22, 2015.

The 1,000 Books before Kindergarten program encourages families to read at least 1,000 books to their preschooler, birth to age 5, before they enter school.

Families can sign up for the free program any time they visit the library. Each child will receive a reading log to record the books they read and each time a goal of 100 books is reached, kids bring their log to the library to receive a sticker and another reading log.
For his efforts, Henry picked out a book which will include a photo and nameplate of the date he finished his achievement.
