Summer Reading Challenge:
Readers ages 0-12 can pick up a game sheet and complete activities designed for each age level to earn Brachiobucks to use at the SLP prize store.
Library staff will sign off on activities between June 15 - August 6.
(Please come to the library to pick up your game sheet starting June 8. There is no registration form this year; please register for individual programs you would like to attend.)

Ages 13-18? Check something out or come to a library program and get a scratch-off ticket!
Some tickets are instant winners, others can be used as entries for the grand prize drawing.
One ticket per person per day, June 15-August 7.

Reach Out & Read:
"Reach Out & Read" is an alternate Summer Reading Challenge to make an impact with your reading. For each hour you read, you will earn $0.50 to be donated to a local non-profit. Open to ages 6-18.
At the end of the summer, library staff will count all the hours read and the total amount up to $500 will be donated to Mount Horeb Neighbors Helping Neighbors. You may participate in both the reading challenge with prizes and Reach Out & Read, but an hour of reading does not count for both programs. You must track your time separately. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. (Please come to the library starting June 8 to pick up your reading tracker.)

June 16, 1-4 pm
Get your hands dirty and watch live demos with professional local artists from the Madison Area Potter’s Guild. Register for a 15-minute guided experience on the potter's wheel (registration opens June 8). Meet in the outdoor shelter, weather permitting.

Join Mr. Ricardo for Spanish storytime an event where kiddos and caregivers can participate in interactive activities such as, music and songs; finger play and bounces; rhythms and rhymes; puppets and more. This event is designed for ages 3 - 6, but all are welcome. No registration. Siblings and childcare groups are welcome.
Ricardo Marroquin is a Library Assistant at Dane County Library and is one of the Dream Bus drivers. Ricardo is a Spanish native speaker and enjoys bringing his Mexican heritage creative perspective into his storytime curriculum.

Explore early‑learning support and learn about local resources for families at the Early Childhood Resource Fair, featuring area childcare providers and community organizations that serve families with young children. Drop in to gather resources & giveaways, ask questions, and discover programs for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. Kids activities and snacks will be provided.
Mondays June 22, July 20 & August 10, 6-6:30 pm
Enjoy a relaxing, 30-minute family yoga session, led by instructor LeeAnn Jakel. All ages welcome. We'll meet on the library lawn, weather permitting. Please bring a yoga mat or a towel if you would like to use one.

Can you picture your art on one of the library's bookmarks? Pick up an entry form at the library and return your completed design by July 25, 2025 for a chance to be featured.
