Monday, August 5 @ 6:30 pm

Who knows the MOST about children’s books? Sign up with your team of 3+ players. Registration opens June 3.

What?

  • A trivia competition to see who knows the most about children's books.
  • Participants work in teams of 3 or more players.
  • Recommended player age of 7+
  • The competition will last 60 minutes with a comfort break in the middle.

How?

  • Register your team.
  • Check out the suggested reading list and read, read, read to study up on possible trivia material! Questions will come from a range of board books, picture books, chapter books, graphic novels, middle grade fiction and non-fiction published within the last 100 years.
  • Practice asking each other questions at home (all questions are in multiple-choice format: In what book does a boy find out he is the son of powerful wizards? A. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, B. The Phantom Tollbooth, C. The Wizard of Oz, D. The Lightning Thief).
  • Each team will have a buzzer and the fastest team to provide the correct answer will earn a point. If a team answers incorrectly, another team may attempt to steal the point, but the team that buzzed first cannot try that question again.

Why?

  • To gamify the love of reading. We encourage playing with your books!
  • To encourage participants to read books they might not have chosen.
  • To have fun and meet others who enjoy reading for pleasure.

Friday, August 9, 10:30 am-12:00 pm

As a special prize, kids who complete their summer reading challenges are invited to a pool party at the Mount Horeb Aquatic Center! (This ticketed event takes place at 204 Park Street, Mount Horeb.)
