Bookmark Design Contest
July 1-26
Can you picture your art on one of the library's bookmarks? Pick up an entry form at the library and return your completed design by July 26, 2025 for a chance to be featured.
Contest rules:
- Designers must be between ages of 6-18.
- Designs must be original and must fit the theme “Color Our World” or celebrate learning, reading, and libraries.
- One entry per person.
- Designs may be either horizontal or vertical. Use the bookmark space provided and turn in the whole form intact.
- Any 2D art medium may be used (crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc.). Please no computer generated images or 3D materials (glitter, glued items, etc.).
- Do not write your name, address, or any other identifying marks on the bookmark itself.
- Do not use copyrighted characters, logos, clip art, etc.
- Bookmarks will be judged on originality, design, and printability.
- Please keep important design details away from the edge of the box.
- Submit the original entry form available at the library or an exact photocopy of the same size.
All entries become the property of Mount Horeb Public Library and may be reproduced for public distribution, displayed in the library, and posted to the library's social media channels and website. The Mount Horeb Public Library may use each winner's name, design, and photo for publicity purposes.

Drop in to create anything you imagine with random materials!
Tuesdays June 24, July 8 & July 29, 2:00-2:45 pm
We'll snack, talk about great books you're reading and end with an activity. Pick up your copy of the (optional) group read at the front desk of the library and come to book club ready to chat about the book! Open to readers ages 9-12.

July 8 - A strange thing happened in Cherry Hallby Jasmine Warga
A painting has been stolen...! When Rami sees a floating girl in the museum, he knows he has seen her somewhere before. Then he realizes: She looks just like the girl in the painting that has gone missing. But how does her appearance connect to the theft? Agatha the turtle knows--she has been watching from the garden. But she can't exactly tell anyone...can she? Will Rami, with the help of his classmate, Veda, be able to solve the mystery? The clues are all around them, but they'll have to be brave enough to really look.
