Apply today to become a Summer Library Volunteer! Open to ages 11-17. Volunteers must be entering grades 6-12 as of Fall 2026 to receive consideration.
Possible duties:
- Help with registration for programs and the reading challenge, includes working directly with families and kids.
- Help prepare craft projects and other hands-on prep work.
- Help run the SLP Prize store. Assist with family programming (example: Lego Contest, Garden Club, etc.)
- Must be able to volunteer for 10 or more hours over the course of the summer and attend orientation meeting on Monday, June 8th at 4pm.
Applications due May 29. If selected from the applicant pool, you will be contacted by the Youth Services librarian to schedule an interview. Not every applicant will be invited to interview. Schedule compatibility and reliable transportation will be considered. Thank you for your interest!

Join us after hours for an immersive fantasy experience with food, crafts, costumes and dancing.
Dress Code: Come as you are or embrace the enchantment! Cosplay is welcome and costumed attendees may receive a fun extra treat!

Mondays, June 29 & August 3, 6-7 pm
Bring your family and join us for a picnic to promote literacy! Sign up and enjoy a screen-free hour of family time and build your family reading culture, whether that's reading a picture book out loud or cozying up with your own books next to each other. Bring your own books or enjoy a hand picked selection of your librarians' favorites.
On the library lawn, weather permitting. Dinner is provided. Please complete this form to let us know you're coming to the June 29 picnic (registration opens June 8).
Tuesdays June 30 & July 28, 2-2:45 pm
We'll snack, talk about great books you're reading, and do an activity. Pick up a copy of the optional group read at the front desk. (Ages 9-13)
The Teen Area
The teen area houses our teen collections including fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, audio, and video games. We have a shelf of Lucky Day items (skip-the-line copies of popular books & movies). The space has comfortable seating and a variety of tables for solo or group use. Patrons of all ages are welcome. You do not need a library card to use the library space.
The library also offers two walk-in study rooms for group use or quiet study. Please ask at the front desk.
