Dress fancy for a doll tea party at the library! Bring a favorite doll, stuffed animal or action figure for crafts, tea and a fun etiquette lesson.

Thursday, February 27, 6:30 pm

Co-sponsored by PFLAG Mount Horeb Area.

In 2015 our community hosted a reading of I am Jazz, a story about a transgender child. This event sparked a movement.  Mount Horeb's unwavering support of transgender youth began an annual international movement. Communities across the country have joined Human Rights Campaign's Welcoming Schools program and the National Education Association (NEA) for the annuaJazz & Friends National Day of School and Community Readings. This evening at our library includes a reading of I am Jazz, other books supporting trans and non-binary youth and a special message from Jazz Jennings herself.

Spring Storytimes: A Spoonful of Stories

Miss Amy and Miss Nora are dishing up some tasty tales this spring with food-themed storytimes. We are reinventing our Friday programs to include Toddler Tales and Tunes, a storytime geared toward to and three-year-olds and 123 Play With Me, a playtime with new activites each week.

January-6th-March 20th

All Ages Storytimes: Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:15 am Ages Birth-6

Daycare providers are welcome! Activities include a variety of stories, songs, fingerplays and crafts appropriate for children.

Toddler Tales and Tunes, Fridays at 9:30 am Ages 2-3

For two and three year olds (with a favorite adult). Designed to develop reading readiness and language skills through the use of books, rhymes, songs, and large motor activities. A simple craft will be included and siblings may attend.

123 Play With Me, Fridays at 10:15 am Ages 2-5

Engage in play for early learning. Spend time together, make new friends, and discover something new each week. Children learn and explore through the use of art, music, toys and more. Toddler Music: Thursdays at 10:15 am Ages Birth-3

Enjoy a fun way to develop early literacy skills in young children with music, dancing, singing, and exploration of simple musical concepts.

Osmo

Kids will love learning all kinds of skills with these interactive gaming and learning systems. Whether it's coding, money skills, or drawing Osmo learning fun!

What is Osmo?
Osmo is an interactive gaming system that encourages kids to learn via play through a combination of physical play pieces kids hold in their hands and a digital game program that reacts to what the player does in the real world.

*Ask to check out one of three available Osmo systems at the circulation desk. Osmo systems are available for in-library use only.)
