Monday, September 24, 3:00 pm

Mount Horeb area homeschool families are invited to an open house on Monday, September 24 from 3-5pm. Come and see what’s new to our collection. Check out our math manipulatives, science equipment, and themed kits which include: geography, language arts and social studies. Miss Nora and Miss Amy will be available to discuss upcoming programs and events for homeschool families.

Have you ever wondered how your favorite website or app was made? Computer Code! Create a coding project at the library using IPads during our three fall sessions. No coding experience needed.  These classes are designed to build on knowledge each week so participants should plan to attend all three Saturday sessions.  September 15th, October 6th, and November 3rd. 2-3:30pm.  Ages 7-12. Registration required, space is limited.

Join Tammy Holtan Arnol MS, NCC for a presentation and discussion of the Nurtured Heart Approach. The Nurtured Heart Approach is a relationship model for inspiring kids to great behaviors. Through NHA, learn how to make simple shifts to energize great behaviors, as well as how to stop accidentally encouraging negative ones. 


Baby and Tiny Tots

Birth to 24 months (with a favorite adult) Enjoy books, simple songs, action rhymes, and playtime and meet other young families in a small group setting! Fridays, September 7 to November 16, 9:45am.


For two and three year olds (with a favorite adult). Designed to develop reading readiness and language skills through the use of books, rhymes, songs, and large motor activities. A simple craft may be included and siblings may attend. Fridays, September 7 to November 16, 10:35am.

All Ages

Daycare providers are welcome! Activities include a variety of stories, songs, fingerplays and crafts appropriate for multi-age children. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, September 4 to November 21, 10:15am.


Toddler Music

Enjoy a fun way to develop early literacy skills in young children with music, dancing, singing, and exploration of simple musical concepts. The fun begins on Thursday, September 6 at 10:15am. For Ages 0-3 and an adult caregiver.



Kids will love learning all kinds of skills with these interactive gaming and learning systems. Whether it's coding, money skills, or drawing Osmo makes learning fun!

What is Osmo?
Osmo is an interactive gaming system that encourages kids to learn via play through a combination of physical play pieces kids hold in their hands and a digital game program that reacts to what the player does in the real world.

*Ask to check out one of three available Osmo systems at the circulation desk. (Osmo systems are available for in-library use only.)
