For all ages!

We might be far from an ocean, but you can bring some ocean to us!  Create your own ocean scene diorama using whatever materials you'd like. Please keep it to the size of a shoebox or smaller. We'll display our community's creations throughout our Big Read for everyone to view and explore.

Infant massage offers amazing benefits for families with new babies! Moms, dads and other caregivers benefit from this gentle practice, too, through increased confidence in parenting skills and improved bonds with baby.

Benefits of sharing massage time with your baby may include (among others) the following:

  • Improved sleep
  • Relief from gas, constipation, general fussiness
  • Relief from daily stress of new experiences
  • Increased ability to read baby’s cues
  • Time to reconnect with baby after work or other times apart
  • Time of sharing relaxation for both your baby and YOU

Instructor Yvonne Hiebert will teach you massage techniques, as well as new ways of connecting with your baby. Attention is given to the unique, individual needs of all children and their parents.

Most enjoyable for parents/caregivers with infants from 6 weeks to pre-crawling. Just bring your baby and a curiosity to learn about how to share massage with your baby. Materials will be provided.

About the instructor: Yvonne Hiebert, MSE, CEIM, is an Infant Mental Health Specialist (IMH-E®) who first learned about sharing massage when her sons were babies. She has been certified to teach parents about infant massage since 2000. She has provided individual and group instruction in home- and community-based settings. Older siblings are not able to be accommodated in the classroom. Please register for this class here.
